Washington Tornado Relief
 
Please review the following information on ways you can help the Tornado victims of Washington, Indiana: Monetary donations can be made to United Way, fiscal agent for the Daviess County Organizations Active in Disaster, at Home Building Savings and Loan or mailed to PO Box 224 Washington, IN. Make checks out to the United Way of Daviess County and write Tornado Relief in the memo field. If you know anyone affected by the tornado that needs assistance, please have them call CONNECTIONS at 812 257 2650. If you want to volunteer for a future work day, please call the United Way office and leave your contact information at 812 254 1038. WASHINGTON NURSING CENTER has placed bins in their front lobby @ 611 E National Hwy to collect household needs and personal hygiene items. The FURNITURE CONNECTION is accepting furniture to donate to families, call (812) 257-2650 to donate. The City of Washington is a key United Way partner.   19 employees completed work for Head Start, the Lighthouse Recovery Center and the Daviess County YMCA during the annual Day of Caring on September 25.   The city just wrapped up a record campaign collecting $4084.00 in pledges.    Shown moving the thermometer is John Dosch, Anita Ash,  Brenda Mullen, Mayor Joe Wellman, Mike Healy, and Ernie Evans. 
The United Way annual campaign is currently at $120,000, halfway to the goal of $225,000.   
 
 
 

 

 

The United Way of Daviess County Day of Caring was held on Tuesday, September 24.  Approximately 450 volunteers helped with over 70 projects for Non-Profits across Daviess County. Thank you to the Washington Times Herald for letting us share their video on our website!
